The Cora Wilding Scholarship

This fully funded scholarship is made possible through the generous support of YHA New Zealand, in honour of its founder, Cora Wilding.

A pioneering advocate for youth development and outdoor exploration, Cora Wilding established the Youth Hostels Association of New Zealand in 1932 to help young people connect with nature, with each other, and with themselves. Her vision was to create accessible opportunities for personal growth through adventure, community, and the outdoors.

The Cora Wilding Scholarship continues her legacy — supporting young people to step into transformative leadership experiences grounded in environmental sustainability, exploration, and connection.
